Barhale – Substations

Description: With specific emphasis on the Burbo Bank On Shore Substation, Brenig Construction have a wealth of experience in carrying out similar schemes, having recently completed £2.1m of substations for Barhale, Iberdrola and Scottish Power over the last 14 months. This has allowed Brenig to build an experienced team of individuals and supply chain who fully understand the new electricity substation sector.
Construction Director Howard Vaughan also has a wealth of experience within this sector, as previously being the Framework Manager for Barhale PLC on the Scottish Power North Wales and North West frame works. He oversaw the build of a further 7 substations over a gruelling 12 month programme with a value of £3.4m.
Below are some of the recent projects that Brenig Construction has carried out on the electricity network.
Saltney 132 Substation
Brenig have carried out the Full Build package with a value of £532,000 over a tight 11 week programme. The works include the construction of a 2 storey control building, Aux Transformer plinth, Main Grid Transformer plinth, all gantry bases, and all associated drainage, duct work and concrete trough works.
Colwyn Bay 32kv Substation
The works include the construction of a 2 storey control building, double transformer plinth with blast wall, all associated metal structures and drainage, duct work and concrete trough works.
